Turkey and Togetherness: Savoring the Spirit of Thanksgiving in Wisconsin’s Backyard

November 21, 2023

Everlight Solar partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank and Sunshine Place to give back to local communities this Thanksgiving season. Everlight was able to purchase thousands of pounds of food items and goods for both organizations. These items consisted of non-perishable goods and other crucial food items to meet community needs.

Partnership with Second Harvest

Everlight Solar is proud to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank, a local organization dedicated to alleviating hunger in our community. This year, we are not only donating food but also volunteering to continue our support of Second Harvest. We donated goods weighing in at almost 1,400 pounds! These goods will be dispersed to 336 different pantries in 16 counties across Wisconsin.

In addition to donating to Second Harvest Food Bank, Everlight Staff members have consistently volunteered at the organization in Madison several times a month. This consists of organizing and packing food to distribute throughout the state. Volunteering has allowed us to witness firsthand the incredible work that Second Harvest does to combat hunger in our region. The Madison location serves as a crucial hub, coordinating efforts to collect, sort, and distribute food to various pantries.

Impactful Collaboration with The Sunshine Place

Everlight was also able to donate roughly $2,000 worth of food to The Sunshine Place, an emergency food bank based in Sun Prairie. In total, just under 300 lbs of food and around 800 lbs of laundry soap were donated. Sunshine Place keeps a stock of fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, meat, bread, cooking staples, snacks, personal care, household care, diapers, and menstrual care.
