Making the switch to solar is incredibly exciting! Here are five quick steps that walk you through a normal solar installation:
FIRST THINGS FIRST
Shortly after you sign with an installation company, a company representative will visit your home to ensure electrical compatibility with your solar panel system and your home. Your roof condition and electrical panel are evaluated to determine your system’s size and design.
SECOND
The next step requires gathering the proper permits and documents. You will work with your installer to complete these, in which the installer will handle most of the paperwork, including incentives and restrictions.
THIRD
Then, the installer will order the equipment for your system. Deciding on the equipment occurs before the contract signing. Most companies recommend a particular brand for each but offer alternatives. When comparing brands, determine panel longevity, efficiency, and how they look.
LASTLY
Finally, your company will install the solar panels onto your roof or in your desired location. Once the installation is complete, the utility company must approve the system and interconnect the panels to the existing grid. Happy saving!
