The holiday season brings a special opportunity to reflect on the joy of giving and the strength of the community. This year, the Everlight Solar team came together to support those who need it most, and the results were heartwarming. With Everlight Solar teams from all five offices participating, our Milwaukee office partnered with Children’s Wisconsin to support Robyn’s Nest, a program dedicated to providing essentials and gifts to children in foster care.
Robyn’s Nest: A Beacon of Hope
Robyn’s Nest, a program through Children’s Wisconsin (Children’s WI), is crucial in supporting children and families ages 0-18 through the challenges of foster care and beyond. During the holiday season, they focus on collecting holiday donations to bring extra joy to children in need. Along with essentials like clothing, hygiene items, and toys, our team contributed thoughtful holiday gifts to ensure kids had what they needed and walked away with smiles, filled with happiness and imagination.
what we did
Members of our Milwaukee team helped gather meaningful items for children of all ages. We purchased warm winter clothing, school supplies, and toys. Before making our donations, we coordinated with Lona from Robyn’s Nest. This helped us understand exactly what to buy for various age groups and needs to make the most impact. Thank you, Lona! Then, we made a group trip to Target.
The next day, we had the rewarding experience of delivering the items to Robyn’s Nest. Handing some of the gifts directly to social workers gave us a deeper understanding of the program’s impact. It was a heartwarming moment that reminded us of the true spirit of the holiday season.
With Wisconsin’s cold winters and the added financial strain many families face, these contributions couldn’t have come at a better time. Our team was honored to deliver these items, knowing our efforts would bring joy and relief to children and caregivers during the holiday season.
