This Thanksgiving season, our Minnesota teams came together to support local organizations making a real difference for families in our community. We’re proud to partner with two incredible groups: BrainPower in a BackPack and Second Harvest Heartland to help fight hunger and spread a little extra warmth this holiday season.
Supporting Students with BrainPower in a BackPack
In Burnsville, MN, our team partnered with BrainPower in a BackPack, a program that provides weekly food support to 850 students every Thursday during the school year. Powered by Burnsville High School student volunteers and community members, BrainPower ensures kids head into the weekend with the food they need.
This year, Everlight Solar contributed food to help stock its shelves for the busy holiday season. Our volunteers also joined in packing and prepping bags, creating an energetic assembly line fueled by teamwork and gratitude.
Fighting Hunger with Second Harvest Heartland
We also partnered with Second Harvest Heartland in Brooklyn Park, one of the largest hunger-relief organizations in the Midwest. Their network spans 393 food shelves and nonprofit partners, and more than 621 hunger-relief programs across a 59-county region in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
Our teams rolled up their sleeves in the food sorting and packaging program, helping prepare meals and essential items that will reach families in need throughout the region. Working alongside other volunteers was a powerful reminder of how much can be accomplished when communities come together.
Grateful to Give Back
Thanksgiving is about connection, gratitude, and giving, and we’re thankful for every Everlight staff member who volunteered their time and energy to support these missions. We’re equally grateful to the organizations doing this work year-round, ensuring our neighbors have access to the food and support they deserve.
