Every year, Everlight Solar awards students with $5,000 Clean Energy Scholarships! We provide this incredible scholarship to students who focus their academics and future professional lives on clean, renewable energy and climate change!
We are quite inspired by the number of thoughtful and impactful applications submitted for this year’s University of Nebraska–Omaha scholarship. Selecting only two finalists was a difficult decision! The Everlight Solar Clean Energy Scholarship winner for the University of Nebraska-Omaha this year is Garrett Heaney! Garrett is currently studying Civil Engineering and working on projects to improve water quality, plan infrastructure, and advance sustainability. He also takes personal accountability in living sustainably by reducing waste and underconsuming where possible.
Aaliyah Wilson was our second-place winner! Aaliyah studies Environmental Science at UNO. She also works for the City of Omaha in the Asset Management department. Her role is to analyze stormwater data to help asset managers better understand and use stormwater. Aaliyah volunteers with Keep Omaha Beautiful, helping with nature cleanups and nurturing newly planted trees.
